That’s about the time I started collecting Benchmades.I was on that list. The seconds had a #2 melted into the handle end. I miss those deals.Same. I've got a Carbon V Recon Tanto I bought from their 2nds mailer back in the late '90s I guess.
Other than the '2' on the end it looks identical to a buddy's non-second. It's sat in my safe for years, I've never used it at all. When I was living in the Philippines I had a Bushman on a short staff (making a short spear) since I couldn't legally own a gun. They still hold up today. I miss the sleek design of their original Vaquero series of folders. That 6-inch blade version along with the Desperado’s 5-inch fixed blade were awesome products. All in all, I have a good overall opinion of them. The bad experiences were with some of their cheaper products ($20 or cheaper) along with the initial release of some of their folders, such as the Recon.

For more information go to - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.Scared me for a second. I thought it exposed people to Nickelback. Cold Steel has always been unapologetically pro-self defense and pro second amendment. That alone aught to be reason enough to support them, but fortunately their products are first rate. They don't talk euphemisms or pretend that they are making toys or zombie repellent tools or any BS like that. They make weapons and they come right out and say so.

They are probably the least politically correct company in the self defense industry, and they always have been. Their products are designed to be absurdly durable and do massive damage to living things - and they will show you a video proving it. What's not to love?
