On your Surface Pro/Rt or Windows 8 computer, when you press and hold on Windows Explorer program’s icon on the taskbar, it will bring up your pinned items and frequent places. They are recently opened files like Documents, music and videos. This is Jump Lists feature. It also happens when you click/tap the File button from File Explorer. To only remove a specific item, open the jump list from an app icon, hold on an unpinned item and select “Remove from this list”.
